What important information on a calendar needs to stand out? For Invisible Calendar, besides events, other days will be invisible. The dates on Invisible Calendar are printed with clear ink. It looks like a plain paper; however, if you write down your important events, they can be seen crystal clear since all of the unimportant information is “invisible”. Also, Invisible Calendar could be easily opened to show all 12 months at once; it’s a new perspective to see the entire year on one page. It’s fun to look back on the year and see all the events that occurred. On the reverse side, the calendar is blank and can be used as a notepad, giving people more space to write down their daily activities or notes. This simplistic and minimal design allows for more creative freedom to write and draw as people wish. Little girls grow up dreaming of it, big girls get jealous over it, and advertisers cash big checks on it. sashaPure’s prerogative was to question which part of the ring is the most important—the shine of the gem sitting atop the band or the emotion that makes you want to say “forever.” To her it was easy – the ring itself is merely a representation of an intangible devotion. To embody a feeling as ethereal as love, we wanted to create a piece of jewelry just as transcendent.

From inside the box, the ring glitters with the promise of karats in spades. But upon opening the box, it is revealed that the sparkling facets are, in fact, only on the surface of the package. This is the moment of impact. When the essence of the design, and the intentions of the designer, hit you in the gut. The promise now, though still of love, is that no material can represent that devotion.

I’ve always been drawn to old things, old things expand my imagination, and I enjoy listening to folk stories and being moved by them. I was lucky to grow up in Tainan, a historic and intimate place full of surprises. What I remember most about Old Tainan is the vibrant street life, full of tradition, where you can not only see but feel the energy of the the city.

After I left Taiwan, Tainan remained strong in my memories, especially its friendly people, unique culture, rich history, and simple pace of life. Luckily, I have always had the support and understanding of my husband Chin Ko, and when I described my impression of Tainan, he created colorful artistic interpretations of my memories. Through these illustrations, I hope that you will take a moment to rediscover and enjoy this beautiful city and its people.
